Taxshashila is now embarking on an inspiring new journey. This ambitious project aims to transform the educational landscape for children with learning difficulties. This initiative is rooted in both compassion and science, as the organization seeks to address a critical gap in education that affects 15%-20% of the global population (according to the International Dyslexia Association).
One of the driving forces behind Taxshashila’s decision to start this school is the growing body of evidence that early intervention is key to helping children with dyslexia. Research from the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) highlights that children who receive specialized instruction tailored to their learning needs before the third grade have significantly better outcomes in reading and overall academic achievement. Unfortunately, many schools are not equipped to provide this specialized instruction, leading to delayed intervention and long-term struggles for children with dyslexia. The school, currently in its planning stages, will begin on a modest scale, focusing on a small group of students in its initial phase.
